Feedthroughs
ALMA feedthroughs are used wherever rotations have to be initiated into overpressure or vacuum vessels. Magnetic fluids act as a sealing substance. Rotating components within these feedthroughs are sealed gas-tight against the static components by a magnetic fluid. All typical problems caused by the use of elastomeric rotary joints are eliminated.
